In the advent of democracy, it became necessary for state Governments to provide befitting Accommodations for Principal officers for security and comfort.
Our brief was to repurpose an existing structure that had been abandoned by previous military administration to serve subsequent democratically elected governors and their families whenever they are in the Federal Capital City. It was to be a testament to the simple and elegant nature of ‘Akwa Ibomites’ as the people from the state are called.
The design features an intrinsically array of space program to provide for the privacy of the Governor and family at the same time state functions without interference. This was achieved. The spaces were arranged in hierarchical order of public to semi-public to private without compromising on privacy, security, and comfort.
